What started out as a hobby during the pandemic days, today has turned into an ambitious project to help autistic teenagers. Architect Lulzim Behxheti, living in Helsinki, started carving portraits of famous Albanian personalities in sketches which quickly became very popular. Here came the idea of putting them up for auction and the proceeds going to help autistic teens. But soon this modest project, with the help of Mr. Behxheti's compatriots, took on great proportions. Thus was born the Vjosa Foundation which has undertaken the construction of several campuses for autistic adolescents with ecological homes with the sole purpose of professionally treating these adolescents at a young age in order to begin to live independently by integrating into society. Humanism and the desire to help autistic children and their parents today is concrete under the name Vjosa Foundation.
