Software Testing Life Cycle refers to a testing process which has specific steps to be executed in a definite sequence to ensure that the quality goals have been met. In Testing development life cycle levels each activity is carried out in a planned and systematic way. Each phase has different goals and deliverables. 

The Functional Testing is the process of testing the developed system activities based on the executed functional test which tend to answer the questions like “can the user do this” or “does this particular feature work”.

The non-functional testing is the process of testing the quality characteristics of the component or system developed. Non-functional refers to aspects of the software that may not be related to a specific function or user action such as scalability or security. Non-functional testing is also performed at all levels like functional testing.

Multi-platform testing is a type of software testing focused on verifying whether the system operates properly on the required platforms. A platform means a combination of the device, operating system and some other software. 

It mostly concentrates on the web application functionality and looks in various browsers. Cross browser testing must be an integral part of any web application testing. At present there are many various browsers. The users have different preferences; even one user may work with several browsers in turns or simultaneously.
